What is SPORTSCO and where is it located?
SPORTSCO Leisure Centre in Dublin 4 offers a large gym, 25m swimming pool, sports hall, fitness studios, tennis, padel and squash courts and 5-a-side soccer pitches. We're located on a 4-acre site at South Lotts Road, close to Shelbourne Park Greyhound track and the Gasworks.

What are the opening hours of SPORTSCO?
Mon – Fri 6.30am to 10pm, Sat & Sun 8am to 9pm and Bank holidays 12pm to 6pm

Is there a cafe onsite?
Yes, Mind Fool Coffee is located within SPORTSCO. It serves Silverskin Coffee and a variety of locally sourced food and drinks. It is open to members and non-members.

What are the opening hours of the coffee shop?
The coffee shop is run by Mind Fool Coffee so we recommend that you keep an eye on their website and social media for up-to-date information

How do I get to SPORTSCO?
SPORTSCO is easily accessible by public transport and on foot Google Maps -
- DART: DART to Grand Canal Dock Station (approx. 5-minute walk) or Lansdowne Road Station (approx. 10-minute walk)
- Bus: Nearest bus stop is Ringsend Road Bus Stop (approx. 8-minute walk)
- Dublin Bikes: Nearest stop is South Dock Road (approx. 8-minute walk).
- Luas Red Line – around a 20-minute walk from The Point Stop
- Luas Green Line – approximately a 30-minute walk from the nearest stop
- Walking/Cycling: Conveniently located near Grand Canal Dock with good pedestrian and cycling access

Does SPORTSCO have a conference room?
Yes, there is a 25-seater conference room available to member and non-members at €50 per hour or €250 for a full day.

Do I need a membership to book the sports hall, conference room, or astro’s?
No membership is not needed to rent the full sports hall, conference room or astro's

What is for sale in your shop?
Goggles, float bands, swim nappies, pool socks, squash balls, tennis balls, locks (key and combination), nose clips, ear plugs, swimming hats (fabric and silicone), float vests, swimming suits (girls and women's), swimming shorts (boys and men's), towels and water bottles.

Are there any clubs in SPORTSCO that I can join?

What happens if we need any First Aid equipment?
There is First Aid equipment at reception, the gym and pool areas, so please notify a member of staff if you require First Aid.

Do you have a lost and found?
Yes, there is a lost and found at the pool and at reception, items are held for around 2 weeks.

What happens if I lose my key fob?
If you lose your key fob, you can get a new one at reception for a charge of €5
-
Can I take photos or videos in SPORTSCO?
Taking of photos and videos is not permitted.

What are the membership options?

How do I join SPORTSCO?
You can join via our membership portal SPORTSCO Membership Portal, call reception on (01) 668 7022, email info@sportsco.ie or come in person and join at reception.

Do I need to be a member to use the facility?
Yes, you need to be a member to use all the facilities

Can I do a day pass?
No, we do not offer a day pass, but we do offer a 4-week taster, which is €99.

Is there a minimum term for membership?
For upfront memberships the minimum term is 12 months. There is no minimum term for RCP memberships
-
Can I pause my membership?
Yes, you can pause your membership for a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 3 months in a 12-month period.

How do I cancel a membership?
Upfront memberships cannot be cancelled; RCP members must contact reception at least 72 hours before their next payment date to cancel and for existing direct debits please contact reception at least 30 days before your next payment date.

How do I set up monthly payments?
Once a membership is in place, activate online account and set up card details (Add in screen recording)

Is there a fee if my monthly payment bounces back?
If paying by RCP or direct debit there is a fee of €10, any other way there is no fee.

How do I get my receipt for my membership?
Receipts are available on request from reception.

Can my 16-year-old take out a membership to use the gym?
Yes, with parental permission a 16-year-old can take out an adult member or a student membership if they are enrolled in full time education, but they must complete the 30-minute gym induction training before use.

Can I add racquet sports or soccer to my membership?
Squash, tennis and badminton can be booked on a pay as you go basis, and members may bring guests. 5 a side soccer pitches are also bookable on a pay as you go basis.

Are there any partner discounts with my membership?
Yes, some partners will offer a discount to SPORTSCO members, please contact them directly for details.

How many kids can I have on my family membership?
Up to 4 children under the age of 18 years
Bookings and cancellations

How do I book facilities in SPORTSCO (tennis, pitches, squash and sports hall, excluding padel)?
Bookings can be made on the website, over the phone and in person at reception up to 7 days in advance subject to availability.

How do I book tennis lessons?
You can book tennis lessons with Jamie Stafford Tennis Academy directly.

Do I need to be a member to book tennis lessons?
No, you do not need to be a member to book tennis lessons.

How do I book classes?
Bookings can be made on the website, over the phone and in person at reception. All can be done 3 days in advance of the class

How early should I arrive for a class?
You should arrive at least 10 minutes before the class start time

What happens if I need to cancel a class I have booked?
If you are on an inclusive membership, you can cancel online at least 1 hour before the class start time. For pay as you go members you must contact reception at least 4 hours before the start of the class in order to avail of a refund.

Gym, Fitness and personal training

I’m a first-time gym-goer. Can someone show me how to use the equipment?
Yes, all new members are offered a free 30-minute introduction session with one of our fitness instructors. During this session, we’ll show you how to use the gym equipment safely and effectively and answer any questions about your workout.

What is the 5 Step Fitness Plan?
Our Bespoke 5 Step Fitness Plan is a personalised programme designed to help you reach your fitness goals. Over five stages, you will: Meet with a trainer to discuss your goals, Work with the trainer to design a tailored programme, test your programme in the gym, Review progress and make any necessary adjustments, complete a final review once your goals are achieved. The full programme costs €70. Members have 90 days to complete all stages.

How do I book the 5-stage plan?
Payment must be made 1st at reception and then booking can be made with the gym instructors

Do you offer body analysis?
Yes, we offer a free initial body scan assessment, which gives you insights into body composition, fitness level, and areas to focus on. Additional body scan assessments are available for €10 each.

How do I book a body scan?
Body scan assessments must be booked in advance with one of our fitness instructors at reception.

Swimming Pool

What are the pool dimensions?
The pool is 25 metres long. The shallow end is 1m deep and the deep end is 2m.

What are the pool rules?
The pool code of conduct requires: swimming caps must be worn at all times, no bombing (jumping), no running on the pool deck, no jewellery, no mobile phones or photography, no outdoor footwear, no food or drink at any time, and all swimmers must listen to the lifeguard and follow their instructions. Children under 11 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged over 16 years old

Do I need to do anything before using the pool?
All swimmers are required to have a shower before entering the pool.

Do I need to wear a swimming cap?
Yes, all swimmers must wear a swimming cap for health and safety reasons

Do you provide towels?
No, but they can be purchased at reception for €12
-

What age can a child use the pool on their own?
Children 10 years and older can use the pool on their own at family swim times, any children younger must be accompanied by an adult at family swim times.

Do you offer swimming lessons?
Swimming lessons can be booked with The Leisure Experts

Can children under 2 years old use the pool?
Yes, children under 2 years can use the pool but they must always wear a little swimmer's nappy and be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 16
Leisure Suite

What is the leisure suite?
The leisure suite is a relaxation and recovery area in SPORTSCO, featuring a spa pool, sauna, steam room and heated loungers.

Who can use the leisure suite?
The leisure suite is for members aged over 16 years. Members under the age of 16 are not permitted.

Is the leisure suite included in my swim session?
No, if you are on a pay as you go membership or a pool only membership you must pay for the leisure suite separately before use. Leisure suite access is included in inclusive memberships.

How do I access the leisure suite?
Swipe your key fob at the entrance and then pull the door open. If the door does not open, please contact a member of our team.

What are the leisure suite rules?
The leisure suite code of conduct requires, shower and wear flip flops before entering, adhere to the code of conduct displayed for each facility within the suite, keep door to the sauna and steam room closed at all times, and ensure the leisure suite fee is paid before entry. Members 15 and under are not permitted.
Changing Rooms

What are the changing room rules?
Changing cubicles have a 15-minute maximum usage time. They are for changing only and not storage of belonging. All items must be removed and placed in a locker after use. Any unattended items left in changing cubicles will be removed.

Are there lockers available?
Yes, lockers are available in the changing rooms. You must bring your own padlock, or you can purchase one at reception.
Classes

What classes are offered at SPORTSCO?
Spin, Zumba, Aqua aerobics, Flow, yoga, Active4life, H.I.I.T, Bootcamp, Pump, Cardio & Core and Functional. Please see our Timetable Page for class explanations and schedules.

Are classes included in my membership?
If you are on an inclusive membership classes are included in your membership. All other memberships you must pay for classes

What classes are suitable for beginners?
Aqua Aerobics, flow, yoga and Active4life are suitable for beginners. Spin, Zumba and pump are suitable for all fitness levels.
Guests

What are the guest rules?

How many guests can a member bring?
Up to 2 guests per member per visit

Which areas can you bring the guests to?
Swimming pool, leisure suite and courts/ pitches

Do I need to pay to bring a guest?
Yes, price is dependent on where the guest is visiting
Accessibility

Is SPORTSCO accessible for people with disabilities?
Yes, we are committed to providing the very best of service in all areas. There are 4 disabled parking spaces, an access ramp and wheelchair accessible entrance, automated doors, a lower reception desk, a portable induction loop, disabled toilet facilities, and lift access to the first floor.

What accessible equipment is in the gym and pool?
The gym has wheelchair accessible equipment including Technogym upper body ergometer, LifeFitness cable pulley station and Cybex Arc Trainer with colour coded adjustment for visually impaired users. The pool area has a pool hoist, and the spectator area is wheelchair accessible.

Are there wheelchair accessible changing areas?
Yes, the changing village includes a dedicated changing area within the family changing room, two wet seats and wheelchair accessible lockers.
Policies and lost and found

What is the return and refund policy for the shop?
A full exchange or refund will be offered to all customers in possession of a valid receipt, provided the merchandise is returned unworn or unused, with the original tags still attached or in the original packaging within 28 days from the date of purchase.
Refunds will be made according to the method of payment at the time of purchase. Please note that a refund back to a credit/debit card can take between 5 and 10 working days.
Because of the nature of some products, we do not offer refunds or exchanges on swimwear/shoes that have had the tags and/or hygiene sticker removed, nose/ear plugs and nappies that have been removed from their original packaging.
These conditions do not take away your rights under the consumer protection law if the goods are faulty.
